Who am I ?
My name is Emma and I live in Dublin with my Fiancé Mark. I am a normal 24 year old who by day is a tour guide and the rest of the time I love music, fashion, food, coffee, animals, make up trends etc. The only catch is that I live with Depression and Anxiety, and have done for at least the past 6 years. As a young woman, I have decided that I want to change how the world looks at people who have experienced types of Mental Health Issues. I want to show that it doesn't have to be a burden. Here is my journey and I will document every hurdle I encounter and also every new adventure I take!
What is this blog about?
The aim of this blog is to help those who are experiencing mental health issues, whether they are short episodes of dark times or if it is something that you constantly have to live with. This blog is not only for people who have or are experiencing these times but it is also for people who are seeing their loved one's go through this too. I want to stress that I am not a doctor or a professional counselor, but I have experienced these issues for the best part of my life. I have reached the lowest and darkest times of my life and I am not trying to diagnose anyone or tell you what to do or how you should act. I am simply trying to offer a helping hand and try to help you to understand what you are going through, how to manage it and also how to live like a normal person (whatever normal is!!) I understand when you feel low, how easy it is to just want to crawl into your cave and escape any signs of human activity possible, and sometimes it is good to have your own space, however too much is not good. I am here to help in any way I can and hopefully to inspire you.... everything IS going to be OK you just can't give up...
