When I was at my lowest point possible, someone said to me that the best medicine for when you are feeling down is laughter. I thought that this was a silly thing to say. How could someone feeling as low and lost as I did laugh? It was around the time that I left work and that sentence stuck in my head for a very long time. I could not understand how laughing could make you feel better. I thought it was such a silly thing to say, laughing is such a simple thing to do, why was I so afraid to experience it?
From then on I was so determined to laugh.I could not understand why it was so important to laugh and smile, but then again I couldn't remember the last time I had a proper giggle and smiled sincerely. One evening I was so down that I searched the house for my DVD of my favourite comedian. For the first time in a long time I couldn't stop laughing, it was so addictive and infectious. From then on, any time I am in a bad place or I feel down, I either watch a good comedy film or I read a funny book. Not only am I getting some of that all important me time, I am also relieving any stress that I may have. It has been proved that laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts your energy and helps to relieve the effects of stress, so why not use this priceless and powerful tool! If you are feeling up to it why don't you invite a small group of friends together and do something fun together, remember laughter is infectious!!! I can't wait to hear how you get on! Peace, Em x

My favourite thing to do for a bit of me time is having a pamper night! I never used to paint my nails a lot or do face masks, I simply never gave myself a chance to enjoy them! I used paint my nails and be too impatient to let them dry! Now I know how important it is to have some me time and I enjoy every minute of a pamper night. Between lighting candles, burning incense sticks, a good face mask and an episode of Pretty Little Liars I always feel fresh, relaxed and happy after a night of pampering.
So whether your idea of a pamper night is a movie night, practicing some make up styles, watching an episode of Gossip Girl, reading your book, playing a game of FIFA with your friends or listening to some music, make sure that at the end of a crazy week give yourself some ME time! I'd love to know what you guys do to relax, comment below and share your idea's! Happy Pampering! Em x Music has a special power to soothe and relax. What better way to unwind after a long day, or even during the day, than to listen to calming music. I like to practice letting my body and mind feel the music, listen to what I imagine the musician is trying to paint in their listeners minds. Below I have attached some music files that I like to listen to when I feel I need to wind down and take a break from everything.

My favorite way to chill and to escape everyone and everything is a bath, but especially a Lush Bath! I just had a bath using the bubble bar Brightside. This bar is really an orange bundle of joy, it does exactly what it says on the tin and really relaxes you with the help of bright colours and sweet scent :) Don't make the big mistake that I did the first time and use the whole bar in the one bath! The best thing about this bar is that you can break it up into little pieces each time you are having a bath, I usually get up to 12 baths out of the one bar, not bad for just under €6!! Another one which is similar to the Brightside bar is the Comforter bar which is ideal when you feel very up tense or panicky. Enjoy the Bubbles and amazing scents Em <3 |
The best medicine for when you are feeling low is some me time. Whether that is a nice long bath, a jog to burn some energy, some alone time playing an instrument, a facial, reading a book or painting, it is so important to have some relaxing me time. Sometimes we get so caught up in our crazy hectic lifestyles that we actually forget what makes us happy, what our interests are and what our hobbies are. As we get older, it is vital to discover yourself, your likes and your dislikes and even more important to make sure you don't lose yourself.
